Boiler Room Prayer
Meets during our worship services.
Easy and Effective. Those words are not often used together to describe a course of action, but they are true of Altadena’s “Boiler Room” prayer ministry. For millennia, saints have proclaimed that prayer is the single-most effective ministry in which anyone can engage. God loves to move mountains when his people take up Jesus’ promise, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” (John 15.7-8)
Okay, so prayer is effective, but how is “Boiler Room” prayer easy? Simple. You don’t have to try to squeeze one more hour from your already overbooked schedule. “Boiler Room” meets during our worship services.
If you sign up for the “Boiler Room”, every month or so you join others who are gathered to ask God to work powerfully in the hearts and minds of all who are attending worship that morning. You follow the movement of the service, even sing the songs, if you’re so inclined. You pray for the ministries and needs of our church, community, and world.
Often those who participate say they come away refreshed and renewed. We hope you will join us, and find out for yourself that , easy and effective really do belong together.

December Prayer Bookmarks
The Prayer Prompt bookmarks from the Prayer Ministry Team are now available for use. Pick up your copy from the Parlor, the Welcome Center, or by following THIS LINK. The Prayer Ministry Bookmarks was a guide in prayer each month with a specific theme and Scripture verses for you to use in praying for the Pastoral Transition Process. So, as the process has come to a close, we use this month’s time of prayer to praise God for His glorious provision of Kyle Parker, our new Senior Pastor, our faithful church staff and ministry leadership, and our newly elected church leadership.
Pray the week of December 1 – December 7:
“Praise the LORD! Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!”
Psalm 106:1
Pray the week of December 8 – December 14:
“I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.”
Psalm 9:1-2
Pray the week of December 15 – December 21:
“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.”
Philippians 4:19-20
Pray the week of December 22 – December 28:
“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
Colossians 3:15-17
Pray the week of December 29 – January 4:
“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.”
Psalm 100
