Tom Edwards is a physican who serves at Hope Health Center in Fairfield, Alabama. He previously served as a medical missionary in West Africa, but saw a need to serve the inner city population of his hometown, Birmingham. Hope Health Center opened in July 2009.

Shepherds Fold is a prison re-entry ministry that seeks to support men and women who have been released from prison by helping them find jobs, earn a living, find affordable housing, recover from lingering addictions, and, most importantly, understand the gospel of Jesus Christ.

God’s House Kindergarten is a ministry of Altadena Valley Presbyterian Church for children two to five years old. Their goal is to teach young minds Biblical principles in order to enable them to discover God’s love and purpose in their lives.

The Alabama Church Planting Network (ACPN) partners with three Alabama PCA presbyteries to establish new churches in our state. They recruit, assess, and mentor new church planters and provide a peer network for support.

Fran and Jill Sciacca serve with Hands of Hur, a unique, nonprofit Bible-teaching ministry whose vision and mission is to revitalize and strengthen existing Christian ministries. Just as Aaron and Hur held up the arms of Moses during Israel’s battle with the Amalekites in Exodus 17, Hands of Hur seeks to strengthen the hands of God’s servants through its commitment to three core values: truth, relevance, and change.

Michael and Lesley live in Birmingham and work with Serge in their Member Care Department, where they mentor and provide support to overseas missionaries.

 

 

CHRISTINA THOMAS

Christian Medical Ministry of Alabama (CMMA) | Birmingham, AL

Christina serves as Women’s Ministry Coordinator for CMMA. CMMA comes alongside students enrolled in graduate level healthcare programs at UAB to help them grow in their walk with God and mature as believers. Christina ministers to the students through bible studies, one on one discipleship, and recruiting female practitioners to mentor the students.

Dion is primarily responsible for overseeing the outreach ministry and all accounting and financial related functions of Urban Hope. As a native of Fairfield, AL Dion is passionate about discipleship for young men in his community and feels called to eventually be a pastor within the PCA.
