The First Sunday Lunch has been moved from Sunday, December 1, to this Sunday, December 8, due to Thanksgiving travel. Join us for fellowship and lunch, location coming soon!

This Sunday, December 8, children ages 4 - 6th grade will perform the Christmas story for the congregation during the Sunday School hour (9:45 AM) in the Fellowship Hall. This Saturday, December 7, there will be a rehearsal for all children who will be participating in the Children’s Christmas pageant. This rehearsal will be in the Fellowship Hall from 12:00 - 3:00 PM. Following this rehearsal, there will be a pizza party. See you there!

Join us on Sunday, December 8, at 5:00 PM for our 6th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting in Altadena Park. There will be cookies and hot chocolate, a craft for the kids, and a gospel presentation. Invite your friends!

Men’s First Monday Prayer has been moved from Monday, December 2, to Monday, December 9, from 6:30 - 7:30 AM. Join us for a hearty breakfast, fellowship, and prayer!

The Session has called a congregational meeting on December 15, 2024, in the Fellowship Hall during the Sunday School hour (9:45-10:45). We will elect officers at this meeting and consider proposed changes to the AVPC bylaws. A list of the officer nominees and a description of the proposed bylaws changes will be available in the Parlor and Welcome Center.

Our annual Lessons and Carols Service, featuring the AVPC Chancel Choir, Orchestra, Preschool Praisers, and other AVPC musicians, will be on Sunday, December 15. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Please note that doors will open for seating in the Sanctuary at 5:15 PM. You will not be able to save seats. Childcare will be provided through age three during the service.

This year, we will have two Candlelight Services in the Sanctuary. The first service will be at 4:30 PM, and the second service will be at 6:00 PM.

On December 29, we will have only one worship service at 10:00 AM. There will be no Sunday School.

The prayer ministry team has placed several books on prayer in the church library, the room directly across from the piano side door in the sanctuary, for the church to read. Feel free to come grab a book to learn more about communicating with the Father. 

The Prayer Prompt bookmarks from the Prayer Ministry Team are now available for use. Pick up your copy from the Parlor, the Welcome Center, or by following THIS LINK. The Prayer Ministry Bookmarks have been a guide in prayer for each month with a specific theme and Scripture verses to use in praying for the Pastoral Transition Process. So, as this process has come to a close, we use this month's time of prayer to praise God for His glorious provision of Kyle Parker, our new Senior Pastor, our faithful church staff and ministry leadership, and our newly elected officers.

Pray the week of December 29 – January 4:

“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! Following AVPC tradition, we will have joint Sunday school in the Fellowship Hall with many fellowship and worship opportunities through the month of December. We will have a fellowship brunch as well as a time of recognition for the Pastoral Search Committee on December 1, the Children’s Christmas Pageant on December 8, a congregational meeting on December 15, and a Carol Sing on December 22. There will be no Sunday School on December 29 and only one service at 10 AM.
